Frame London’s Museum Framing at V&A East’s Opening Exhibition

V&A East Museum Opens with Landmark Exhibition “The Music Is Black: A British Story” — Featuring Frame London’s Signature Museum Framing

The highly anticipated V&A East Museum has officially opened this April in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, marking a major moment for culture, creativity, and design in the UK. Launching alongside the museum is its first major temporary exhibition, The Music Is Black: A British Story — a powerful and immersive exploration of Black British music and its influence on British culture and global sound.

Opening on 18th April 2026, the exhibition traces the evolution of Black British music from 1900 to the present day, highlighting its profound cultural impact. Visitors can expect an extraordinary collection of objects and visuals, including:

  • Joan Armatrading’s childhood guitar (on public display for the first time)

  • Iconic fashion pieces worn by performers such as Little Simz and Stormzy

  • Newly acquired photography by renowned artists such as Jennie Baptiste, Beezer, Dennis Morris, Eddie Otchere, and Sam White
