Dry Mounting Disclaimer

Dry-mounting is a process used to permanently bond a photograph or artwork to a rigid backing board using a heat-activated adhesive. It is an effective solution for achieving a smooth, flat finish; however, the process is irreversible and therefore not recommended for valuable or irreplaceable originals unless the risks are fully accepted.

While issues are rare, minor imperfections or damage can occasionally occur during the mounting process. Frame London cannot accept liability for such risks inherent to the process. In such cases, the appropriate requirement will be decided on a case by-case basis, and Frame London will take all reasonable steps to provide an appropriate solution. Where both parties agree that a replacement is the best option, we will cover the cost of production. Production costs are calculated based on current London printing rates applicable to the type of print; the original sale price is not taken into account.

Clients must notify us in advance if artworks are valued over £5,000 and are encouraged to arrange their own insurance for high-value or irreplaceable works. Any irreplaceable items proceed at the client’s risk, with prior agreement.
